Nokia* and its predecessor Suomen Gummitehdas (Finland Gum Factory) have been manufacturing rubber footwear for over a hundred years. Hai boots were launched in 1968, originally for use by sailors. Over the years, Hai boots have become such a well-known footwear that almost every Finn has memories of them.
